Men of Honor Mission
There were the Texas Rangers and the Rough Riders. But now there are the Men of the Rock, taking a bold stand against lawlessness and the like. They were known for their honor and integrity. All Heaven watched as they established the kingdom of Heaven on Earth for their God and King, the Lord Jesus. They had favor with God and men. They caused other men to desire such things. God was well pleased with the Men of the Rock. The reward that awaited these men could not be measured in human terms or scales. We exist to delight Him…to please the Father…to make Him smile….to cause Him to dance and rejoice.
A Creative Explanation of the Need for Men of Honor by Ted Travers
As the men came to the top of the ridge, thoughts of the town in ruins, dead bodies everywhere, weighed heavy on their hearts. Twenty-five men came to right a wrong beyond what normal human beings could imagine. The town completely razed and burnt had only three survivors. These women had been taken by the outlaws. God help them! The moment of truth had come. Were these 25 men ready to face such evil and disregard for human life? Now was not the time to be asking these questions. They were the Texas Rangers. They were feared by outlaws everywhere, but today they would need more than being feared. They would need the strength that comes from being prepared and knowing that they could depend upon each other.
As the Rangers came to the top of the ridge, the outlaws stopped. There was nowhere to run or hide and they were not about to surrender. Three Rangers slid off their horses - all sharp shooters. The rest assumed the positions they knew where necessary for victory. As they prepared, none of them were naive enough to think that this day would not be a bloody one. When the gun fire ended, all 37 outlaws had gone to their "just" reward. Six Rangers had given their lives. All the Rangers stopped to honor the brave men who had fought for justice regardless of the cost. The three rescued women were overflowing with gratefulness that these men of honor had taken a stand against lawlessness.
